Mobo's USB 3.1 header to backplate usb 3.1 ports

Hello all,

Firstly I'd like to state that while I have built PCs before, I am still very far from an expert. Case in point: When I assembled my latest rig, I accidentally broke a pin off of the 20-pin usb 3.0 connector on my mobo (which led to only 1 of the 2 USB slots on the front of my case operable). I need more USB ports, and my PCI-E slots are full with GPUs. I do not want to get an external USB hub. I happened to notice that my mobo (ASUS Z270E) has a usb 3.1 header seen here:

After googling a bit I think I can use this to get more USB ports. Now, I've seen a mount where it connects to that port, however it outputs to USB-C which is not useful for me. The image for that item is here:

I was wondering if anyone could help me find basically this kind of mounted adapter, but instead of outputting to USB-C, it could have a mount with multiple USB 3.0 (/3.1 since it's backwards compatible) ports. Maybe I am using the incorrect terminology and would be able to find it easier if I knew what to look for. I'm not really sure. This 3.1 header doesn't seem to be very popular. At least, I haven't been able to find much on it.

Any help is appreciated. Please let me know if you need any additional information regarding my rig in order to better assist me.

Thank you so very much!

  1. You would want something like this. There are very few choices since they are not very popular yet.
