Changed CPU in my Dell PC, now Won't Boot

  1. We can't help you if you don't provide info about your system and what CPU you installed. Was it on the compatibility list?

  2. put the old cpu back in. if that boot, it the new cpu, if not, you did something when you change it.

    You may need bios update first. What is your mobo?

    The pc is the Dell optiplex 760, and the CPU i bought is a Intel Core 2 Quad Q9505S 2.83GHz Quad-Core Processor, SLGYZ
    I don't know anything else about it.

  7. I would suggest downloading a piece of software like Speccy which can help identify the motherboard model. Otherwise no-one can provide you with much help as that Dell model has different configurations.
