I need help with a motherboard I have

So I'm going to buy a new graphics card that's pci express 3.0 and my motherboard says(because it's a fm2+ one)only fm2+ apu will support 3.0 pci express and i have a fm2 not a fm2+ and it only allows pci express 2.0.do i have to buy a new fm2+ apu just to be able to use this card or can i just plug it in now

  1. There is backward compatibility between 3.0 and 2.0, while most cards do not even max out the bandwich provided by revision 2.0. However post here the gpu you are willing to buy.
