Performance not upto the mark?

So i just installed 1TB Firecuda along with my old 1TB Barracuda but the performance of the former is lower than that of latter but it should be vice-versa, isn't it? (Despite using same good SATA cable)

More about performance upto mark
  1. Empty or near empty drives have better performance than when they a have a lot of data.

  2. the performance boost of the SSD cache of the FireCuda comes as you use the drive more, the reason for this is that the drive intuitively looks at what you're accessing most frequently, then places that on the SSD cache so that it will see better load-times. So you are more likely to see the drive's performance pick up after you've used it for a little while to give it time to gather information about what should be on the SSD cache.
