Random fps drops on good PC? Plz help

So about a month ago, I was running all my games on maxed settings 1080p 60+fps. Then suddenly I noticed I slowly started dropping fps in all my games. First it started freezing for 5 seconds, then go again, then I started to get massive fps drops in h1z1. I started getting mad and Wondering what the heck is wrong with my PC. I then start monitoring my PC usage and my gpu, cpu, and ram usage is around 50-60%. I then take matter in my own hands and take out my gpu which is a gtx 1060 and put it in my friends PC and wow 200 fps on all low setting in h1z1(I play on low so I see better). Oh wow 1080 all high, 150 fps??! Like why. My PC spec's are
I7-4770 3.4 GHz gets up to 3.7
Gtx 1060 g1 gaming 6gb rev 2.0
16gb ddr3 1600mhz ram
Stock Dell motherboard lga1150
1tb hdd
Friends PC:
I5-7600k over clocked
Really nice gaming motherboard
Gtx 1060ti
8gb ddr4 ram 2666mhZ

260gb ssd.
I did put his 1050 in my PC and then started getting 50 fps in game. Someone help me plz

  1. Although you didn't list the PSU, it is the probable culprit. Either that, or your mobo is going bad and is having a hard time regulating the voltage of each component. The 1050 is a much lower power card, which is why all symptoms point to either of these situations. Try testing out your PSU in another PC.

  3. Alright I will do that, I also have a spare 500w I can test also. But the 1050 I used to test in my PC didn't require and PCIE cable to run. Yes it could still be my psu not powering the mb

  4. A quality PSU is a must. Wattage doesn't mean jack, if it is a junk unit, so be careful. Also check your CPU temps.
