Problem with detecting a monitor (XB241H)

Just got this and plugged it in but no luck.

What might be the cause of this problem?

I plugged in the DP cable & the power cable, the monitor is on as it flashes it's blue light on the bottom right corner every few seconds, but the screen is pitch black and when i go search in windows/nvidia settings it is nowhere to be found / can't detect it. Why?

On the manual it SHOWS that there are 3 cables to plug in, but whilst reading it says optional HDMI or DP cable. So like is there a cable missing or not? Out of the box there were only 1 EU power cable, 1 US power cable (i have no idea why) and then 1 DP cable and that was it. The monitor functions but my pc won't detect it.

I have the latest GPU drivers on my GTX 645.

P.S. I have another monitor plugged in, but that doesn't seem to be the problem, as i have already tried to unplug that one and use the Acer Predator XB241H only! Still pitch black screen.

P.S. There might be a slight chance that i am mistaken the HDMI cable to be DP, but that really won't make any significant difference, as they are plugged in on their right places.
