Having Trouble OC'ing HyperX FURY DDR4 on Ryzen

Hello all,

I recently upgraded systems. Due to the pricing of DDR4, I picked up a kit that I found on sale which includes a single 8GB stick of Kingston HyperX FURY. Due to the significant performance bump that RYZEN receives from higher speed memory, I did a bit of research and found a site where my exact 2400MHz kit was overclocked to 3000MHz (RYZEN's sweetspot) with slight timing modifications, on an Intel platform. After trying 3000 and 2666 MHz overclocks on my system to no avail, I was wondering if there was anything I could possibly do to get my RAM overclocked? I have heard from a lot of people that I can't overclock a 2400MHz kit past 2400 MHz, but given that I have seen multiple sites where my EXACT kit was OC'd to at least 2666, I'm unsure about this. System specs are listed below since I'm sure they will be important to any response. Any help is much appreciated!

AMD RYZEN 5 1500X, stock clocks on the Wraith Spire
GIGABYTE AB350-GAMING3 (BIOS rev. F8)
HyperX FURY 8GB @ 2400MHz, single channel
EVGA GeForce GTX 770 SC
EVGA 750BQ 750-Watt Semi-Modular 80+ Bronze PSU
