Overclocking failed in amd

I installed amd over drive software to overclock gpu ...but it shows me i dont have an amd cpu r gpu in laptop....y is dis so? What steps do i need to take to succesfully overclock? Also, would buying ram increase gaming speed? .

  1. I wouldnt advise OCing any laptop. They already run at max temps in a lot of cases.

  2. Agree, overclocking a laptop is a bad move. You will hit thermal or power issues.

  4. Start a separate thread describing the problem and the exact laptop. Has it ever performed better, what is it not doing well? If its lost performance we need to figure out why, if you just feel its not fast enough your expectation might be wrong. Generally with laptops there is little you can do to upgrade apart from changing RAM or HDD/SSD.

I have a hp notebook with 2.2ghz amd a8 7th gen and radeon r5 graphics and it also says turbo boost upto 2.5ghz.....it works fine when surfing n all...in gaming it becomes laggy a bit...like i tried far cry and cod 5 ..it got laggy ...maybe i expected a lot more and dat might b wrong.....is anything there i can do to boost it up? Adding ram etc.?

  8. No, you bought a low end laptop, I wouldnt expect it to play any modern AAA games in playable frames.
