Black Desert Online (JP) PC Lock Up. (10/18/17 Patch)
After the Halloween patch (10/18/17) My computer completely locks up upon launching the executable. Black Desert was playable before this patch, with only a "Not Responding" error that randomly occurred upon launching. I was used to this error, as it would fix itself, then continue normal play.
What I've tried to circumvent this lock up:
- Updated drivers and windows - Deleted the cache folders in Documents and the initial game folder. - Fiddled with the registry driver values (TdrDelay REG_DWORD Decimal (10) ) - Reinstalled the game itself - Deleted the ADV.folder. - Deleted the PAZ.folder.
I'm at a complete loss. I cannot check my temps as well, due to the fact that the game locks up upon executing.
10/30/17 Update: Tried this again, still no luck. However, when I power on the PC I am met with a blue screen with options. (BSOD?) I dare not configure anything until I receive further information regarding my issue.
11/2/17 Update: Black Desert (JP) had undergone a maintenance yesterday. This didn't fix the problem. Tried disabling / enabling my drivers before the game starts up, still black screen PC lock up.
11/10/17 Update: Apparently, the problem lies within the Windows Fall Creators Update - 1709. Scoured for more information regarding this issue. Deactivated GameDVR, troubleshooted Windows Update and Security and Windows found an error. It fixed the problem and prompted me to resume my previous task. I started up BDO and this time it went fullscreen only to freeze at the splash screen. Also took note that Windows Insider Build 17025 had fixed some issues. Unfortunately I don't have insider access, so hopefully there will be a fix?
If anyone knows a workaround or a fix for 1709, I would greatly be appreciated.
