Small sticky tack (?) like object on bottom of hard drive

(Seagate Barracuda 1TB 2016)
I've been noticing a fair amount of kind of clicking noise from my hard drive not long from when i got it. A while back my computer started making a very loud fan noise that disappeared when I turned my case on its side. I think this is seperate from what I'm looking at now, but I put in a new case fan 2 days ago to see if that was the problem. It fixed it and i kept my case upright until earlier this evening, so I looked into my computer a bit. I tested the case and cpu fans on full speed together and didn't hear the noise, so I'm not sure what to think about it right now.

Anyways, I took out my hard drive to see if there was anything wrong with it and found this:

as low quality as this picture is it's exactly what it looks like. I don't know the terminology for hard drives so I can't explain it, but it's the greyish dot

So I just want to know if thats something for the hard drive or something I should remove?
