Can this case and cooler handle the overclock?

I get a Cooler Master CM 690 III case, with a NZXT kraken x52 liquid cooling. Will this handle a i7 7700k being overclocked to around 4.8 GHz while streaming aswel? the x52 isnt much off from the x62 tho. like 2/3 celsius

  1. As long as you have the fans on the radiator intaking fresh air outside of the case, you could get pretty close to 4.8ghz. Thing is with the 7700K some get hot real soon, Keep temps below 80C and you should be perfectly fine.

  2. I have the same cooler with the same Cpu. In my opinion, from my own Overclocking to experience with this setup, is that it's going to depend on how good of a chip you get. My 7700k can go to 4.7 ghz with 1.18v. This keeps my load temps fluctuating between 65C and 75C. However, the moment I try to shoot for 4.8 ghz, I have to up my voltage to 1.3v to get a stable Overclock. But at this voltage, temps will reach 100c and start throttling. Other people can reach 5ghz with that voltage or even less. So it's going to depend on your chip. I wouldn't go into it expecting a certain Overclocking speed as you will most likely get disappointed. Just shoot for the lowest voltage you can and monitor your temps.
