DPC latency issue - rerouting audio through 3.5mm jack. Is it safe ?

I have encountered a dpc latency issue with my motherboard. Essentially playing HDMI from my computer onto the TV produces fuzzy/scratchy audio that is unbearable.

For now, I have connected a separate pair of speakers to the 3.5mm jack that disables the audio over HDMI while the video keeps playing.

latencymon and other apps report the latency as still being present and I was wondering if this workaround could be safe or not - could it damage my motherboard ?
