Monitor displaying nothing

So I’ve had my computer for about a year now and now whenever I turn it on it goes black. Pc specs are cpu: i5-4690k, gpu: Msi gtx 980 motherboard: gigabyte ga z97x gaming 3 psi: Evga 1000 wt.
so when I turn on my pc with me gpu in it loads up the gigabyte screen the freezes for a bit then goes black, if I have the gpu out and using motherboards gpu it goes straight to black. Don’t know what’s going on. I’ve tried different monitors and using different graphic cards. If more info is needed lmk. Thanks -Jacob

More about monitor displaying
  1. It you had two RAM sticks, try remove one, using onboard iGPU, clear the CMOS first, then reboot the PC to see what happens. I think the RAM may have problem.

If you still have the same problem, try remove the RAM and the boot device ( and all HDD/SSD) too. Clear the CMOS, and boot the PC.

Tried all this, nothing fixed it. When I did the second thing you said it turns on for a few seconds then turns off and repeats

  3. If your PC will not boot, then either the CPU or MB has problem.
