overlocking 60hz monitor to 75hz

if my monitor can up to 75 hz in lower resolution i can overclock my 1080p monitor to 75 hz?

  3. It may ,don't know really .I oc'd my monitor to 66hz using for few months but I guess the life span may affected

    then i will buy 75 hz monitor i really dont wanna damage my monitor

  5. There won't be much diff b/w 60 and 75 .Try to find at least 100hz or above

    Just do it if you are thinking of upgrading anyway. I find 75Hz to look much better than 60Hz but obviously something like 144Hz is very smooth. I found using Nvidia's custom resolution tool to work fine when I did it since it automatically adjusts the other timing parameters. I doubt you will get 75Hz out of a 60Hz monitor but might be worth a shot. My monitor supports 75Hz but its at least 6yrs old and still running strong if that's any indication of lifespan. (My monitor is a VX2025wm FYI).
