Which mobo: Asrock z270Extreme 4 or z270 Pro 4

Approximate PuGTX 1060 6GBrchase Date: e.g.: this week

Budget Range: <$1500

System Usage from Most to Least Important: Gaming, web browsing, 3D in Blender

Parts to Upgrade: None

Do you need to buy OS: No

Preferred Website(s) for Parts:,

Location: Stockton,, CA, USA

Parts Preferences: by brand or type I would like to upgrade to Intel CPU, quad core with hyper-threading

Overclocking: Yes

SLI or Crossfire: Maybe

Your Monitor Resolution: 2560x1080 60-75Hz, 21:9

Additional Comments: I'd like a TG window since my desk also has TG, and a bit of RGB

Why Are You Upgrading: I'm currently using my laptop from 2000 via powered converter. I want something better.

I was told hyper-threading would help out in Blender, and that the intel single core speeds would also help compared to Ryzen. Now I'm barely starting, so I don't want to go for a rendering machine just yet.
Intel i7-7700k

I really like the RBG look, but I have heard people say that they break after a few months.
NZXT Kraken x52 240mm AIO

I understand that there are differences, but I can't understand how that would affect my system or if I would even notice the missing features. Although I do like the RGB header to add an RGB strip later on, maybe. I would like to know how each mobo would affect a second GPU if I choose to go SLI later on.

Blender definitely uses more cores efficiently and the ryzen with more cores will perform better than the 7700k. I recon the 8700k and 1700 to be on par with each other in blender performance. Furthermore, u have a 75hz ultra wide monitor. Ryzen can definitely give you 75hz.
And although a 1060 can max out in that res, the 1070 will assure that for a few more years.
Although only the rams here in my part list are rgb, with ur rgb strips, that would suffice I think. The Kelvin s24 is a powerful cooler with expandability and runs quite. The logo glows blue in the cpu block :
