Sound stutter while gaming

Hi!
I apologize in advance, i'f I'm not being clear enough describing my problem, i'm not really all that knowledgeable on my computer stuff when it comes down to fixing issues.

I've recently clean installed windows 7, since my pc was really full of clutter, that i didn't need, and i honestly hadn't done a clean install in years, probably about 5.

I've been running into this problem, my sound randomly stutters while playing online games ( for example Guild Wars 2), and i played that game for years before clean installing, and it had never given me that problem before.

The issue happens mostly when i'm surrounded by alot of things going on, ( like a large amount of players or combat), it doesn't always happen, and when it does, it lasts for maybe 1 second, if that.

I Noticed that my realtek drivers were somehow missing after doing all the windows updates, and reinstalled them from the realtek website., this seemed to help until the next reboot, when it started again, also the manager is nowhere to be found? i've always had a realtek manager.

On a good day, maybe it doesn't happen at all, or like today, it happens just with my character on idle.
Note this doesn't happen while i stream videos, listen to music, or any other sound programs, But i did notice a "pop" like sound when i pause videos sometimes. which i'm almost certain it was never there before, but it doesn't always happen.

I'll try my best to descrive the system i'm using:
Windows 7 64 bit
6 GB ram
Pentium(R) Dual-Core CPU E5300 @2.6 Ghz
Nvidia Gforce 730
Service pack 1

If i'm missing something, let me know and ill try my best to post it.
I played perfectly fine the day before re-installing windows, without any sound issue, and i'm out of ideas on what else to do.

Thanks in advance and sorry for the long post!

  1. Try uninstalling every single driver you have for audio, and reinstalling the latest ones (MAKE SURE THEY ARE WIN 7 COMPATIBLE OR THEY WILL NOT WORK)

  2. Hi! and thanks for the input.
I'm running into a problem when uninstalling nvidia sound drivers, that i've never encountered before, upon rebooting after uninstalling, the drivers automatically install again? How does one stop that from happening?

Check Nvidias FAQ's and see if there is an auto download drivers option that you can turn off, if there isnt - simply disconnect from your internet while rebooting and this should stop the problem with persisting, once logged in, reconnect to download the latest sound drivers
If this doesnt work and it just keeps happening, try re installing windows, or for my recommendation - upgrade to windows 10
