Motherboard, fan, reporting issue

I have:
ASROCK 990FX Killer
AMD FX-8350 (not oc'd)
W/ coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO (running 2 startech 120 mm fans)
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3
SAPPHIRE Radeon HD 7850 1gb

The problem I"m having is, AMD AOD is reporting wildly different fan speeds. I'm running 100% (from mb) "Fan 1" will vary from about 1200 to peak at 23,000. "Fan 2" from about 920 to 3200, and "Fan 3 from about 2200 to 2700. Speedfan shows a more consistent fan speed on all 3 reporting fans. Is it a AOD problem? Also, I get the "fan isn't working properly, must shut PC down. Would a fan controller help?

More about motherboard fan reporting issue
  1. Have you tried updating AMD Overdrive? There have been many people complaining of wrong temps when overclocking and fan speeds as well. Several people updated the program and it fixed itself.

Overdrive is up to date. Been running all day:

    Fan 1----- min: 1767 max 48214 ?!?!?!?!
    Fan 2----- min: 910 max 5819 ?!?!?!?!?
    Fan 3----- min: 1372 max 10547 ?!?!?!?!

    HWMonitor

    SYSFANIN----- min: 1773 max 1934
    CPUFANIN----- min: 2292 max 2327

    ?!?!?!?!!?!?
The only time my Thermal margin drops below double digits is when I convert videos. Gets to about 7 after about 1.5 hrs. SO........... Overdrive is crap, with regards to fans?
