ASUS Strix X299 - Shows 48GB Ram not 64GB (6 of 8)

Hello I have the new Asus Strix X299 Motherboard with 64GB DDR4 3000 GSkill RGB Ram. For some reason they all light up but in the bios and everything only reads 48GB/6 of 8 slots. Any suggestions.

  1. Hi, If testing each slot in single RAM configuration, do all slots work?

  2. yep, you will have to test every stick individually

  3. GSkill does not make 64GB RGB Ram kits. Using multiple kits carries no guarantee how they will work. That is, if they work at all.

Not true. F4-3000C14Q2-64GTZR 8 stick kit, QVL shows it being compatible with x299 strix.
