Laptop motherboard's Conexant CX20752 chip extremely hot and not working in windows.
This might be the wrong place for this but I couldn't figure out where else to put it. Recently, the audio crapped out meaning no matter how many times I reinstall windows or try to reinstall drivers with whatever hacks I could find on the internet, the audio would not work. No playback devices would be available and HD Audio Device would fail to start. I was finally able to locate the chip on the motherboard which was the CX20752 Conexant chip and found that it is extremely hot to the touch even after a couple seconds of boot.
Does this most likely mean the chip itself is dead meaning I would have to replace that chip on the actual motherboard? Or is there something I can try to do to fix this issue?
