World at Warcraft help

I cant post in Blizzard Forums because i dont own the game. I am very much interested in buy it but don't know were to start.I am open to any suggestions. I have never played WOW in my life but want to get into it.

1) What is a good USA server to make a Character on? Once you make a character are you bound to that server?

2) What should i buy first ? Should I buy just the game and wait on the expansion ? Should i remake my character on a server with high population ?

3) if you are on a normal server there is not PVP ? Im not really into PVP I just want a epic experance playing with other doing raids ?

I have watched some videos and just want to get as much info as possible be for i pull the trigger and buy it Thanks for the help .

  1. I play on Azshara, but it is pretty low population. You are not bound to any one server. You can make a new character on any server, or even pay to transfer to another. With cross realm servers, the one you start on isn't as big of a deal as it used to be, other than auction house pricing. If you current one is low level, just start over. It really doesn't take long to level these days.

Just buy the game itself first. You are good to level 100 with the current base game/battlechest.

Normal server you have to flag yourself for PVP, or do PVP related stuff like battlegrounds and arena.

  2. I haven't played WoW since the game released many years back and Blizzard used to offer 14 day free trials. After a quick search for free game trial, it seems they still offer access to the game for free to try out. Sure, there are limitations, but at least you can try it out to see if you do like it before you buy it.

I'd suggest you start there before worrying about diving into the game and spending money on it.

If you want a bit less annoying experience, pick a low population server and maybe a Role Playing one. Those tend to be populated less by idiot kids that like to annoy people. Depends on your age group. Seems on my server (Earthen Ring), which is an RP one, there is very little actual RP going on aside from a few areas, and a lot more adults 30+.

You are not restricted to a server, between my kids and myself, I think I have 20 characters on at least 3 servers.

You can get a package of the first few expansions pretty cheap now, I would do that. The free WOW trial you can play till lvl 20, but are restricted to some things. Good enough to get a feel for the game though. You can also set a character limit if you like, so if you like a certain area and want to experience it better or do PVP in a specific level range, you can set it so you don't level past 19 or something and just go nuts in the lower level areas at the right power range for the content.

One of the things about WOW is that if you run a lot of quests and dungeons, you can level up past your area a lot faster than you can explore the story line fully. You can always back-track though, but once you are too powerful for the area and items dropped it's not quite as much fun.

I think they have a special with the base game and Legion. I didn't see any other expansions

I just checked, if you get the base game and Legion, the other expansions are rolled into that. Or rather, you can just buy the base game without Legion and get the other areas aside from the newest one. I have had a WOW account since beta and had all the other expansions so not really up to speed about what is included when you buy the game new now.
