Old Gigabyte GA-P35-DS4 motherboard with M2 SSD - PCIe adapter?

Hi There!

I have an old Gigabyte GA-P35-DS4 motherboard P35 Express Chipset.

https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-P35-DS4-rev-10#sp

Unfortunately the motherboard have only Sata 2 3Gb/s connectors,it is around 300mb/s speed.

But it have 2 PCI Express X16 slot(x16, x4)

I planning to use it with Western Digital Black SSD.

Sequential Read/Write

Up to 2,050 MB/s Read
Up to 800 MB/s Write

I have seen this M2 PCI-E 3.0 x4 Adapter which can accept the SSD,with high speed.

What do You think, will this work like in this video, with another pc?

  1. P35 Chipset does not have PCIe 2.0 or 3.0. It also does not have BIOS support for NVMe storage.
