Using 1600+ RAM on this MoBo

MSI 880GM-e41

https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/880GME41/Specification

heres the specs.
it says it supports up to 2133 RAM but from 1600 up is red. you guys think this just means i need to OC in BIOS in order to obtain these speeds?

thanksssssss

More about 1600 ram mobo
  1. There's no use of RAM faster than 1600MHz on Phenom processors. It's native frequency is 1333MHz and everything over it is overclocking and that's why it's in red.

would RAM over 1600 be incompatible with phenom or is it just pointless and unnoticeable?

All RAM can run at lower frequency, what's stated is it's highest frequency manufacturer feels stable but in right circumstances it can be overclocked.
Thing with RAM is that modern processors have memory controller in it and each one has defined frequency it's supposed to run at (in this case 1333MHz) and anything above it is considered overclocking so 1600MHz is already overclocked value and even higher runs into "diminishing returns" wall, more OC, more heat more sensitivity etc.
If you run into cheaper but faster RAM, go ahead but set it at maximum 1600MHz for stability's sake.
