ASUS ROG Maximus VIII Hero won't boot M.2 windows after case swap

Heya everyone,

Kinda puzzled here - I recently switched cases and now I can't boot into my windows volume on the m.2 slot in my ROG Maximus VIII Hero. It appears to recognize the drive, as it is listed as a boot option, however it tells me there's no OS whenever I use it. For reference I've disconnected all other drives and removed everything except the core components and the M.2 SSD

I tried flashing my bios, and interestingly enough when I use the EZ flash utility I can browse the folder structure of the drive. Also I created a windows setup volume on a USB but it tells me there's nothing to repair.

Any idea what to try next?
