Help - Should I replace GPU or MOBO as Vega 64 wont fit Kaby Lake mobo

I recently replaced a bunch of parts after my PC started black-screening on startup, so I now have a new 750psu, a Gigabyte Z270X Aorus Gaming 7 Motherboard with i7-700K, new RAM, and an AMD Vega 64 as my old GPU seemed to be the issue with my old parts.

Now my problem is, and if you check an image of the MOBO, you can see the PCIE 16x slot is the one closest the CPU and has plastic covering next to the SATA ports etc, which are stopping me from fully pushing the card in as it's so long and it specifically needs 16x PCIE.

So either now I find a GPU which I can fit size/pcie wise and is as good as the Vega 64? Or if that's not possible then I need help with a better Kaby Lake 1151 Motherboard to get that will fit my Vega 64 and not be blocked off by mobo design/coverings.

(I'm leaning towards replacing the MOBO with a better more spacious if you've got any recommendations).

Any help is really appreciated, thanks.

  1. 1| Make and model of your PSU?
2| You should be able to drop in any GPU so long as the latch that is supposed to hold down the GPU is down prior to the GPU going in, in which case the latch should move upwards.
3| You may want to pass ona video of what you're trying to do, just in case.

    Seasonic snow silent 750w platinum.

The latch closes but there's no real click when slotting it, and then I just get a black screen on startup with it, and I've replaced everything except hdd/cd drive/case, and onboard graphics work when the card is not slotted in.
