MSI or Gigabyte 1080

I am currently split between getting the Gigabyte - GeForce GTX 1080 8GB G1 Gaming Video Card and the MSI - GeForce GTX 1080 8GB GAMING X 8G Video Card. I know that the MSI card comes with more FPS but also comes with a £30 more cost (with the current offers on the MSI and Gigabyte making them £530, MSI, and £506, Gigabyte) so is it worth it to pay £30 extra for like 1 more fps or is there other factors which make the MSI card better than the Gigabyte card
Any answers are appreciated
Thanks.
Also if you want to suggest any other graphics cards I could buy, feel free.

  1. MSI Gaming X 1080; Its a great card with good cooling. I wouldn't suggest anything else coz i would had suggested this card anyway.
From personal experiences,i had bad experiences with gigabyte boards and their customer service is poor.

  2. really it's much of the same between all cards of the same model (1080) each manufacturers take on the GPU is slightly diffrerent, but perforomance wise they are all close to each other, even the OC ones.

The main differentiator with those cards, will be the cooling solutions, colour, RGB lighting, warranty etc. Thats all your really paying the extra money for.

Some people will recomment this brand over that brand, maybe because they had a bad experience 10 years ago or something.

The bottom line being, choose which ever one is the cheapest, has the best warranty and looks the way you like it to look. For the lower clocked vanilla type cards, you can simply OC them to get the same speeds as the OC (and more expensive ) versions.

  3. But isn't the Gigabyte? The Gigabyte has three fans but the MSI only has two and the Gigabyte gets lower temperatures on full load.

thats possibly just down to the fan speed/curve set in the bios for the GPU by the manufacturer. As I said. Performance wise is much the same. It's about the other things. If the gigabyte runs 3 degrees cooler than the MSI, would I honestly care? No, not really. If that matters to you then buy the Gigabyte.

    I like Asus cards myself.

  5. But I like saving my money, so I don't really wanna buy a completely overpriced graphics card by asus although they look nice its not worth it

Its not always the looks. The fan design, cooling, RGB, quality check; these things make a card costly.
And to me, its not a particular brand, rather the particular model like i prefer the msi gaming x model, asus rog strix model and so on. It all depends on your preference and features you are looking for in a GPU model.
