Ryzen7 1700 - Bumped voltage, CPU speed suddenly cut in half

Hi guys,

I have tried to overclock my Ryzen 1700 but have trouble reaching 3900mhz. I kept bumping the voltage after getting 3800mhz, but the clock speed suddenly drops to 1500mhz (proved by both HwMonitor, and Cinbench result). Temp was always under 48 degrees. Tried continue bumping the voltage to somewhere around 1.36 but it didn't help. Is it just the limit of the CPU? Or is this caused by other factors?

Please see details below:
3800mhz | Cpu Voltage: 1.30000 , Vcore: 1.31250 | Result: Completed Cinebench
3900mhz | Cpu Voltage: 1.30000 , Vcore: 1.31250 | Result: CRASH during Cinebench
3900mhz | Cpu Voltage: 1.30625 , Vcore: 1.31875 | Result: CRASH during Cinebench
......
3900mhz | Cpu Voltage: 1.32500 , Vcore: 1.33750 | Result: CRASH during Cinebench
3900mhz | Cpu Voltage: 1.32500 , Vcore: 1.33750 | Result: Clock speed @1500mhz
3900mhz | Cpu Voltage: 1.33125 , Vcore: 1.34375 | Result: Clock speed @1500mhz
... ...
Same result

Specs:
AMD Ryzen7 1700 | ASRock X370 Killer SLI/ac | Cooler Master GX550w

Thank you very much!

  1. It's also possible that your specific CPU cannot go any higher. No chip are the same.

  2. And he clocks to 3.9GHz and no matter how many volt he gives it is not stable.
