Is it safe to overclock my monitor?

I have an ASUS PB298Q 2560x1080 monitor and I used the nvidia control panel to overclock it to 70 hertz. Am I pushing the monitor to hard or do I still have some room to play with?

  1. you should be fine pushing it to 70fps, i think you could even do 80 if you wanted to, just beware of any strange behaviour. if it acts strange, check that the game is matching the monitor speed; the overclocked speed but if this fails stop overclocking until you can get help.

  2. You can push it until it starts to get blurry, then dial back. It's sort of a lcd lottery, you'll notice when the quality degrades. A lot of people get to 75Hz, and more, others can't even go past 60Hz.

I stopped at 80 because I felt safe there and 90 hertz would not display at all, so I know have an 80 hertz monitor. Thanks!
