Ryzen 1600 + ASUS B350 PLUS + G.Skill 8GB

Hi guys!

I recently completed my new Ryzen build and am facing issues with running the RAM beyond 2133 MHz. It's the G.Skill F4-3000C15S-8GVRB. I tried to set it to higher frequency (2933) in the BIOS with DOCP but the system doesn't boot in that case.

I'm running the latest BIOS and the latest chipset drivers. Do I need to tweak the timings and voltage? Please help! :(

  1. Yes, you should set the timings and voltage as they are written on the small sticker on your ram. Usually ram at that speed needs 1.35v to operate.

But isn't the stick already running at the timings and voltage on the sticker by default?

  3. No by default it will run 2133mhz and 1.2v as that is the ddr4 standard.

My mobo has an option to run the DOCP profile but it doesn't boot on it. Do I have to change the CPU voltage too?

  5. Just put the settings manually on a Ryzen system as the xmp profile are not always working with a Ryzen mobo.
