Good overclock for i5 7600k

Hi, I am new to overclocking and pc building as a general. In a few days I will be building my pc as soon as the parts arrive and I will be overclocking my cpu.
Mobo: Asrock z170 extreme 4 (Bios version 7.2)
CPU: i5 7600k
Cooler: Be quiet pure rock slim
How far can I push the cpu?

  1. Depends on several factors.
Read this if you are new: Open every drop down menu (the blue ones)
And you can scroll down the exel page he has made to see some 7600k`s listed there and see what settings they have used.

Just watch your temps!!! since like I sayd, there are several factors that comes into play.

  2. I'll try a 4.4/4.5 overclock as the cooler supports up to 120w tdp and only has a 92 mm fan.

  3. You do know that you will probably need to update the BIOS on that motherboard to be able to use that CPU right? And to do so you will need a Sky Lake CPU.
    Why didn't you buy a Z270 motherboard?

Edit.: Never mind, i see you found one with an updated BIOS already.

Of course I know. I've been saving up for my pc for just under a year and was gradually buying everything. It just happened that I got the motherboard first and I've contacted Asrock and they will send out replacement chips with the updated bios.
