Motherboard help!!! 1st time PC upgrade

I am looking to buy a new asus desktop, linik is at the end. It comes with a i5-7400 and a mobo which is a intel h110 chipset. Does this mean that they are compatible with each other. Does the gtx 1050 ti work with this computer and mobo, as well as power supply. I am planning on getting the gtx 1050 ti which doesn't require external power except the psi slot. Do the gtx 1050 ti work with majority of the h110 chipset mobo?? Thank you for reading and helping.

That system should be ready to drop one in. It has a PCIe x16 slot on the board and does not come with a discrete graphics card.

  2. Are you planning to get a low profile 1050Ti? The only concern I would have is clearance in the case, as it is not listed. The chassis looks pretty wide though.

Are you planning to be gaming? If so, you might be getting pretty toasty. I don't see too many holes in that box.

EDIT: An better exhaust fan is an easy upgrade though and you can use software (like SpeedFan) to manage custom fan profiles

I plan on gaming, but not hardcore gaming, around the lines of rocket league, league of legends, cs go. If I do want to get a exhaust fan what is a cheap exhaust fan I can get less then $40 cad that is reliable

  4. Looks like it has mounting holes for 92 and 120mm fans. There are tons of options in that size range, something like this:

    https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835103193&cm_re=120mm_fan-_-35-103-193-_-Product

EDIT: First fellow Canadian and I gave you the .com :/

Is this all I would need, and will there be enough space for this and the graphic card. It so hard to get Wi-Fi here in my igloo what about you?

EDIT: How would I power this? Does the power supply in there allow it for that, gtx 1050 ti, and the rest.

There should be enough space. For sure if you get a low-profile 1050Ti.

You mentioned that the card you are looking at does not require external power. I don't think it should be an issue.

How would I power this, and is 300 watt still enough

If you are talking about getting a card like the one below, it gets power directly from the PCIe slot.

    https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814137081

300W is the recommended size for this card

  11. Check this page out: https://www.asus.com/us/Tower-PCs/VivoPC-K31CD/specifications/

The OEM cards that come with the higher end models run at 55W with an i7 and the same power supply. Also, the ARE low-profile so you will want to get that for sure.

  12. What do you mean OEM cards, and what do you mean I should get them. I am planning on getting in a store and they don't carry those, can't I just get the: https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814137054&cm_re=msi_gtx_1050_ti-_-14-137-054-_-Product or https://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814137056&cm_re=msi_gtx_1050_ti-_-14-137-056-_-Product

Did you look at the link? That system can come from the factory configured many ways. Some of those ways have a Core i7 processor and either a GeForce GTX745 4GB or a Radeon R7 340 2GB (these are the OEM cards I was referring to) but they still have the same 300W power supply.

I can't guarantee that the full-height cards will fit. They probably will but I know for sure that the low-profile will.

  14. How about this tomorrow I will go buy the computer, tomorrow is the sale. around 6pm so after that why don't talk. On top of that I can go to Canada Computers and check for sure that it will fit. I will make sure to check the dimensions, are you free to be on this thread tomorrow around 9pm est?

  16. I don't know for sure when I'll be around tomorrow but I get notified of responses on my tracked threads so I will see your message.

The system can 100% support a 1050Ti, the ONLY concern would be height clearance, which should also be fine.

  17. I am 90% sure it will fit. I will check the height clearance tomorrow. I can return the product to Canada Computer if it doesn't fit so that's why it's good.

  18. You can always get that low-profile one on Newegg if there is an issue. Their return and exchange are known to be good, but not as handy as local.

I checked there seems to be more then 6 inches of space above it, according to the pictures do you think it will work?

  21. Yes, there appears to be lots of room for the full height card. Are there no fans???

If not you will definitely want to get some chassis fans!
