Memory overclocking to far?

Hi! I just got a Asus Strix 1080 11gbps. I started to overclock it and got the memory stable at 12ghz +1000 on the slider. Is this safe to run?

  1. If it doesn't crash while gaming, yes it is safe. You may however want to stress test it first.

  3. As long as the fans are running, it'll be fine temp wise. I have serious doubts it's stable, though.

I haven't done to much stress testing but so far it's stable. I haven't hit the point where it artifacts or crash yet so maybe i can overclock more. But I'm concerned about the temperature of the memory modules getting to high. And there is no way of measuring it that I know of.
