PSU Watts for a GTX 750Ti

Guys I recently bought a GTX 750Ti, I went to the Nvidia Site and I saw that the minimum requirements for the GPU was 300Watts, but my Power Supply has only 250Watts (It's a Fujitsu d12-250p1a) will my PC turn on or I need to buy a new power supply?

  1. That fujitsu is a really low quality PSU and 50w for that power supply is a lot of stress. Nvidia recommends at least 300w (MINIMUM) for your entire system for a reason, is better to stick with at least 300w. So my answer is YES you need a better quality PSU.

One of the best deals around, is a good 400w EVGA PSU FOR $29.99::

the power supply is the heart of the pc, NEVER cheap out

as this can lead to nothing but broken parts and frustration

280w is possible, does the 750 ti require a 6-pin pcie cable?

  4. 280w couuld be okay till you buy a new one but only if is a good quality PSU, if is not a good quality it could damage your computer.

You can try but is not recommended. It could work but if it doesn't you could damage your motherboard, CPU, graphics- card, memory you name it. When a PSU dies it can send an electrical surge to all your component which can effectively destroy every single component in your computer.
