Ryzen 1600 Overclocking

Hello,

I purchased the Ryzen 1600 due to its similar performance to the 1600x and the slight difference to the 1700, if I overclocked it.

I have never overclocked however I heard overclocking a 1600 would be as efficient as the 1600x and nearly 1700, this is why I purchased this CPU.

I am not sure what components to overclock, e.g fans (due to a overclocked CPU) and which software. I am really strict due to the fact I do not want to break my computer.

Thanks

there is software ryzen master ... just google for ryzen overcloking software and you should get some link to amd site.
as long as you don't touch the voltage you won't possibly damage the cpu or motherboard.

Which motherboard did you get? The B350 chipsets have some limitations, so we'll need to know which board you have in order to give you suggestions.

  6. 350 chipset. From what I've seen, you won't be able to set VCore manually, you'll have to use offsets. And I've heard they have restrictions on how high they can set it. I've heard 1.38v and I've heard others say 1.42v. I don't have that chipset, so, I'm not sure which it is. Either way, that voltage doesn't leave a lot of room to play with.

It also limits your options for LLC adjustments, power phase management and a host of other "overclocking must haves". Those things aren't going to stop you from overclocking.....but they'll certainly stop you from getting good results.
