My pc has a problem. Whenever i reset any component on the motherboard, my pc doesn't boot. Recently my gpu stopped working so i took it out and cleaned it and when i put it back, my pc didn't boot. i removed the card and used my onboard graphics but still it didn't boot. However, after a day's hardwork i got it running and right now it's working well (without the gpu). This thing has happened before too but i get it to work by resetting the cmos battery and all that, but this time it was really hard for me to make it work. Now in the future im gonna buy a new gpu and im worried that the pc won't boot after i install it. I've heard that updating the bios solves these kind of problems but sometimes it damages the motherboard too, so what should i do?
I've got a Gigabyte GA-H61M-D52 and F4 version of bios

Yes, update to the latest. It should not damage anything.
