Need help with getting a new graphics card to run witcher 3

Currently I have to run witcher 3 at medium graphics without v-sync in order to have above 60 frames but I would love to play this game with all it's graphics at max.

Currently I'm using a R9 380 for my graphics card and my processor is an i5-6500. I don't know much about my computers since my friend was the one who helped me build mine. It would be fantastic if I could get help picking out a new graphics.

update 7/16/2017
just wondering another thing, with graphics cards are there any differences if they have stuff like msi or asus in front. because my graphics card is MSI r9 380

  2. Assuming you're only trying for 1080p (which I reckon you are with a 380), just pick up a GTX 1070.

A 1060 6 GB would nearly max Witcher 3, but you'll have more breathing room for future games with the 1070

You may be able to sell the 380 for a good price right now as well.

yea im currently using a 1080p monitor, do you know any places to sell pre owned parts to?
Also about the graphics cards should i wait for the next big sale (christmas, black friday, etc) because im not in a rush, as well as that graphics cards tend to lower in price when a new one is getting released right?

  5. if you get tired of waiting the 1050 ti can run it but not as good as the 1060 or 1070. probably medium and low settings. you can search benchmarks of witcher 3 running on different cards on youtube. hope this helps.

Wait for the market to recover from the Ethereum mining craze at the very least. It has driven prices up due to unavailability of what would normally be cheaper cards. Have a look around labor day or whatever the next big one is. You can set price alerts on some websites as well.

That's not an upgrade from an R9 380. If anything, it's a mild, but significant downgrade.
