Is it time for an upgrade?

I've had this desktop for nearly 2 years without upgrading any parts. Just wondering if i would need to upgrade any parts as there are just better parts or they are getting old so its time to replace. I primarily use my computer for light studying and playing games.
CPU: Intel core 13-4170
Video Card: Gigabyte Geforce GTX 950
Motherboard: Asus Z87-Plus
Yeah basically these 3, and maybe a wireless network adaptor. The one I have is the TL-WDN4800
Thanks for your time.

Does it do what you want it to do? If so, then no it is not time to upgrade. If performance is not what you would like then it is time to upgrade.

As that is a Z87 motherboard. I would install a Core i5-4670K, 4690K, i7-4770k or i7-4790K. Then overclock it. No reason to buy a new motherboard, RAM and Windows license. When the computer will perform very well with one of those CPU. Personally, I'd buy them used and save some money. Be sure to update the BIOS first.

As for the GPU. Unless you are willing to buy a GeForce GTX 1080. I would wait. As there aren't any decent mid range upgrades at a reasonable price. As crypto mining has butchered prices and availability of mid-range cards. The GeForce GTX 1050 Ti is too minor an upgrade to bother with.
