Kracken x52 Without internal USB 2.0?

I have an Asus RIG Strix Z270i mobo, but it doesn't have an internal USB 2.0 header. I wish PCPartpicker would have told me, but its incompatible witb the NZXT Kracken x52, because to power the pump, there needs to be a Mini USB to USB 2.0 internal connecter. Is there any way to power the pump without a USB 2.0 header? I have a Mini USB to USB cable, would that work at all (If I route the cable outside the case and plug it in externally), or do I need a new MOBO?

Yes that can work. I've seen videos that the Hue+ can be hooked up like that. My question is, it doesn't say USB any where onthe motherboard itself? Trying to find images, but the angles are off.

Your Z270i has an internal USB3.0 (19-pin) header. If you are amenable to not using such header for the front panel USB ports of your case, you can use such header to connect the NZXT Kraken X52 USB2.0 cable by using a USB3.0-to-USB2.0 adapter such as this:

    https://www.amazon.com/SIENOC-USB3-0-Female-Motherboard-Adapter/dp/B00O0HC3Y0/ref=pd_sim_147_2?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00O0HC3Y0&pd_rd_r=0AKTFYWFHTQ96CBWKCWQ&pd_rd_w=izHx4&pd_rd_wg=lHJIe&psc=1&refRID=0AKTFYWFHTQ96CBWKCWQ

But if you need the USB3.0 Header to enable your front panel USB ports, you can try the method outlined here (with photos) (http://imgur.com/a/Fn00g), this time, using a combination of cables: 1) a Lian-Li PW-IC01NH45 cable (https://www.amazon.com/Lian-Li-PW-IC01NH45-Type-C-Ports/dp/B072K47DRW) to connect to the Z270i's USB3.1 internal header and convert to a USB-C female port, then, 2) a Monoprice Palette Series 2.0 USB-C to USB Mini (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01H2ZDAJI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_ep_dp_YOK0ybWGR4K7E) to convert the USB-C female port to a USB Mini, which in turn connects to your NZXT Kraken X52's USB Mini.
