Flashing H110M motherboard for G4560

Hi! So I just have a question, I'm building an new pc with a pentium g4560 and a H110M mobo just wanted to ask a couple questions 1. How can I find out if it's been pre-flashed. 2. Do I need to download the BIOS from a different PC or can I do it through this new PC? Thanks in advance

  1. 1. You can't. Even though it's been like a year, people are still having problems with 100 series boards not having bios for kabylake cpus.

    2. You need a working CPU to even flash the BIOS, so... yes you'd need another computer to download the updated BIOS unless you install windows first with that working CPU.

    3. Any money you saved not getting a 200 series board is lost having to get a Skylake CPU just to upgrade the mobo for the cheapest good CPU you can use on it. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/kxs8TW/intel-cpu-bx80662g3900

  2. So if I have a HDD with Win 8.1 already installed I can go ahead and just boot up the new PC prior to flashing it? And I have another PC I can download the files off

You need a working CPU to flash the BIOS, it won't start at all with the g4560 in there if the Bios isn't up to the right version.
Generally Windows isn't transferable to new hardware by HDD alone. It may kind of sorta work initially, but you'll have a lot of weird issues if you try to do that.

  4. Ok so what should my process be? Let's say I finish building it and everything works, what should I do as soon as it's done?

  5. If it works with the g4560, then you don't have to do anything special.
If it doesn't work, you need to buy either the CPU i listed above, as it's the cheapest skylake, or get a b250 or h270 or z270 board.

  6. So I can't just download the BIOS from my other PC and just go straitht to the MOBO BIOS and flash it through there with a USB?

  7. Or am I not able to even get to the mobo BIOS without it being flashed?

  8. The motherboard will not work at all without a compatible CPU.
The computer will not boot up if the CPU is not compatible, so you can't update the bios without a working CPU.
