Overclock Asrock AB350 /w ryzen 1600x

Hey all,

I am trying to overclock my pc to get a few more frames and hopefully minimize any micro stutters i've been experiencing in a couple games.

When I go into bios to change my cpu frequency from 3.6 to 3.7-3.9 or anything really, the pc on boot will turn off and on 5 times while it tries to post and then it will post fine but it will go back to 3.6 on boot. I've tried changing the voltage but it doesn't help much.

I've also been trying to get my 3000 g skill ram to get to at least 2667 or 2992 but for some reason the highest i can get it to go is 2132. The same problem happens with the ram I try to place it higher in bios but on boot its always the same.

  1. There are 2 ways to overclock. Try Ryzen master as bios overclocking is a bit more involved.

  3. ive fixed the overclocking issue with the cpu. ive now found out it is most likely an issue with the ram. The ram no matter what I do can not get above 2133. the computer will not post with any other speed even if i increase the voltage. I am now able to successfully overclock the cpu though no problem
