Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 1060 6GB vs EVGA GTX 970 ACX 2.0 SC 4GB

I'm buying a new GPU and I've came across two Nvidia GPUs that beat the AMD's whole RX series, except the 570 and 580, but in my opinion the difference between the Gigabyte G1 Gaming GTX 1060 6GB and EVGA GTX 970 ACX 2.0 SC 4GB isn't huge, in fact it's really small.
But, the 1060 that I found would cost me 1900kn ~ 282 USD and the 970 would cost me 1300kn ~
192 USD, but I'm buying second-hand so I could lover the price for max. 200kn.
If someone could tell me which one really is better, I would be thankful.
IMO, 970 would be the better option, just need a confirmation.

  1. Oh the 1060 is faster than the 980 so its quite a bit faster than the 970.

  2. But is it worth giving 89 more dollars?
Btw, I'm not quite sure the 1060 is faster than 980, I'm pretty sure it's :
    980>1060>970>780

  3. The 1060 is indeed faster

Im not really seeing the 970 being a good option at this time, what resolution are you playing at? how long do you plan to use the card?

I cant recommend the 970 over the 1060... you get half as much vram and you are buying a used card... (ive not had issues buying used) but that doesnt mean you wont.

If you can afford the 1060 get it for sure

    I play only at 1080p 75HZ.
I don't always play at High or Very High settings, I usually sometimes do Medium because graphics in game doesn't matter to me at all, the story is the most important.
I also like to work in Cinema 4D, Sony Vegas, Adobe Photoshop and FL Studio, which is one of the reason I took the FX 8350 because of it's astonishing 8 cores and 4GHz (it's unlocked CPU so OC in the future is the plan).
I found it for 850kn ~ 125 dollars, it's second-hand so I could lover it to 650-750kn, for me that's a very good deal since in Croatia buying new stuff from our PC shops is very expensive, they charge up to 100 dollars more for some components, it's really bad to buy new stuff in this country.
I plan on using it until it dies. Or untill I sell it to someone else, but that's not gonna be anytime soon.
I saw the the page article you sent and the difference is minimalistic, so giving 600kn ~ 89 dollars more for GTX 1060 doesn't really look like a good deal.
