Upgrading my graphics card (question)

Hi all,

I need to buy myself a new graphics card, because my old one died. I want to ask some advice here, since i'm not following the hardware world anymore. I like to play the latest games, and i prefer High to Ultra high settings. What is the best card that i can buy at the moment for the following 4 years? My resolution is 1920 x 1080, i do not play on 4K resolution. Would a GTX 1070 be a good choice? Or is a GTX 1080 better or overkill for my use?

Thanks :)

  1. For 1080p 60Hz a 1060 6gb or 580 are both great choices. How long the last is down to your needs.

Well, if you have the money, the GTX 1070 would be a good choice for 1080p gaming for at least the next 4 years. The GTX 1080 is overkill and the GTX 1060 (as already mentioned) would mostly be fine....but in 4 years, maybe not.
