  1. The GT730 is what's holding you back. Going forward with gaming, you'll need a better GPU.

  2. I think you answered your own question. A GT 730 is far, far below the minimum system requirements for GPU, so it should be performing dreadfully. A GT 1040 ought to be better, though you have to wait for benchmarks to be sure, but even that is likely to scrape the very edge of the minimum specs if it turns out to be around the level of an RX 550, as is rumored. Personally, with your competent CPU and desire to play games like this, I wouldn't buy anything lower than a 1050ti.

  3. As said above that GT730 is your problem, that gpu is a slug I bet the integrated graphics in your cpu is not much slower than that gpu.

Do GT 1040s even exist? I cant find any. Most nvidia GT cards are very slow and not really meant for gaming, certianly not a game like battlegorunds. I would look at a gtx 1050 or maybe an rx 560.

A GT 1030/1040 has been rumored to compete with the RX 550. Don't believe there's been an official announcement yet, but I've been bus.

Yes. Your CPU is capable of high-end cards like the GTX1070/80.

As said above, I suggest nothing less than a GTX 1050Ti for your system.

You can see the cpu as the brain of your pc and the gpu as the body so to say. The cpu processes information and sends it to wherever it needs to go. That information can then be used by different components like the gpu to create in it's case what you see on screen. If the gpu is to weak and receives more information than it can handle your framerate will go down. If the cpu is to weak everything will work slower. Get at least a gtx 1050ti as the rx 550 is bad value for the money (the 1040 should have the same performance as the 550 performance).

Your processor is strong enough to allow high-end video cards to be fully utilized.
If your processor was old or slow, that would hinder the ability for good video cards to be used to it's full potential.
Games use the video card to produce the images you see in your game, and the game data being supplied to the video card comes from the processor. So it is important to have a good pair between CPU and GPU.

Currently you have an excellent CPU with a really weak GPU. That's why you are seeing bad framerates in games.

If going for a GTX 1060, go for the 6GB version only. The 3GB gets edged in performance by the AMD RX460/470/480.
