CORSAIR H60 CPU cooler

Ok so first off I will not be over clocking my new rig anytime soon. Second I am just looking for an answer to whether or not my current h60 will support my CPU (RYZEN 5 1600X) AT NORMAL CLOCK SPEEDS. I don't plan on OCing this until later down the line, after I get my complete setup, i.e. screens and such. I know the 1600x has a 95w TDP at base clock.

Parts list- ONLY LISTING THE HEAVY HITTERS ON MY BUILD...STORAGE AND SUCH MINOR ITEMS DO NOT APPLY TO MY QUESTION, SO IM NOT LISTING THE PARTS.

AMD - Ryzen 5 1600X 3.6GHz 6-Core Processor

Gigabyte - GA-AX370-GAMING 5 ATX AM4 Motherboard

Corsair - Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-3200 Memory

EVGA - GeForce GTX 1070 8GB SC GAMING ACX 3.0 Black Edition Video Card

Corsair - 760W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply

  1. The H60 should be more than enough. It even ships with the AM4 mounting gear.

I'd personally get an air cooler over the H60, though. It's really loud for the amount of cooling you get. The NH-U14 would be more than enough, and much, much quieter.

  2. @The Nerd 389 I asked this because I already own an H60, but later on will upgrade. Just wanting to make sure this will support my 1600x at base clock. Thx for the answer... Also I want to stick to the water cooler area because I'm doing an caseless build capable of being mounted on the wall or placed on a stand. So having conventional CPU cooler aesthetically pleasing to the eye

I see. If you have the H60 already, it may not have the AM4 mounting bracket. You may want to contact Corsair support to have them ship you one.

Other than that, your setup should work.

  5. H60 came with the AM4 bracket for the pre-installed backplate and mounting brackets. Go CORSAIR for future proofing accessories before AM4 was even being used. CORSAIR I love you lol
