Question from cdgamerz : "Dell optiplex 755 force overclock"cdgamerz said:can you overclock a dell optiplex 755 with MSI afterburner? the CPU is a q6600Ali Tauseef said:Dell Optiplex 755? That's the name of the PC. What are you planning to overclock? You will be able to overclock graphics card and CPU (probably).
Which form factor of the Optiplex 755 do you have?cdgamerz said:The Form Factor Is a Minitower.

But there is no way to lock gpus and you can even oc laptop gpus with it.Ali Tauseef said:Please be clear on the rest of the qeustionscdgamerz said:what program can i use to overclock it then?
Anonymous said:No, but it is easy enough with a hardware mod on BSEL pads:
Just connect the bottom of the CPU like so with conductive pen or defroster grid paint to force the FSB from 1066 to 1333.
The BSEL mod will get you from 266fsb to 333fsb so with the 9x multiplier 9x266=2.4GHz, 9x333=3GHz. you could just install a Q9650 (3GHz)and be done with it. The Q6700 with 10x Multiplier will go 3.3GHz. You will need heatpipe cooler D9729 which bolts in. The other pinmod you might need is VID mod to raise voltage.
With more voltage available SETfsb, and Clockgen software can be used.
