random pop-up artifacts

i have 9800 gt pov (old ikr) tho i play only csgo and league of legends so i dont rly need more powerful gpu.when i turn on the pc and when it boots up all good and then all of a sudden i get artifacts at random times then if i restart the pc its normal till it boots then random again. the gpu has 1 6pin power tho my psu doesn't have one so i use sata to pci-e for some reason my sata has 5 cables (+ 1 orange) tho the other one doesn't have the orange one and the power supply states that it gives more power the gpu uses around 110 watts so 75 from the mb that means the sata should be more then 35 watts so is the psu at fault or the gpu :( and if its the gpu can you recommend any other i just want to play csgo and lol at 130+ fps i had around 150 fps (i know both are cpu intensive i have xeon E5440 4x2.83)

  1. Sounds like the problem is the GPU, I would replace it with a budget card that doesn't require additional power from the PSU.

any recommended gpu by or you had with one in the past i just want to run csgo and lol smoothly is some cheap 1gb gddr5 gpu be good enough be enough?
  3. Well if you were happy with the GT 9800 performance then anything better would be a improvement. I'd probably go with either a used card or if new then a RX 460 or GTX 1050 for the price. Maybe even a GT 730 2gb (64-bit) if your on a tight budget which would be a bit better then that GT 9800.

That would be good, just get a version that doesn't require extra power from the PSU.
