Headphone sound reversed (left out of right, vice versa)

Sometimes, when I start my PC, the headphone sound is reversed, so stuff on the left comes out the right speaker and vice versa. This confused the heck out of me when I first experienced it, and I didn't realise what was happening. Now though I do. I tried fixing it, to no avail, when it suddenly corrected itself. Now though, It's back. I would think this to be a relatively simple problem: I've been told of a button that says "reverse audio", but my version of windows 10 doesn't seem to come with this checkbox. I've downloaded third party software as well, to no avail.

Is there any fix?

More about headphone sound reversed left vice versa
  1. I had that problem once, then looked at my headphones, and saw a little (L) and (R) on the edge of the headphone, seriously not making fun of you,. I have done it. what headphones do you have ? and when you think its happening did you go to "playback devices (right click on sound icon in taskbar) and tested it right there and then ?

I checked playback, no reverse audio. And if I wear them the other way, the mic faces the back of my head, which would be a major design flaw
