Bought evga 650 p2, need to connect to r9 280x vapor x tri, it lacks 2x8 pin connectors. What to do.

  1. Would it be fine to connect 1 x 8 from psu to card and other from psu to card?

    You need both cables connected.

  4. Your PSU does have 2 8-pin connectors - in the form of two 6+2 ones. Just read your specs :)
  5. But I can't find any documentation that says its ok to power a single cpu with the two connections, I wouldn't want to break anything.
  6. You have to use both cables. If not, there is not enough power.

    a gpu requires all pcie slots it has to be populated

    they are there for a reason

    do you think you know better then the people that actually made the card? =)
