Want to make sure this would work

I plan to oc my intel 6850kl to 4.5 with MSI Extreme Gaming Intel X99 LGA 2011 with corsair ddr4 3000 vengeance lpx 64 gb of 8 sticks of ram with sli MSI GeForce GTX 1080 DirectX 12 GTX 1080 DUKE 8G OC 8GB also be doing alot of video rendering etc would this memory work or should i drop to ddr4 2666 just to be safe

    What do you mean by "will this memory work?" of course it will. The max frequency it can get to using XMP tho would be dependant on your Motherboard which in your case the MSI Extreme X99 can support up to 3400 MHz according to the MSI Website meaning your 3000 MHz will run fine if you enable the XMP Profile for it in the BIOS. As far as i know, faster RAM helps with some rendering suites and other workstation tasks so you can grab a fast 3000 MHz kit if you feel like it. Hope this helps :)
