Hey Guys. I'm planning to buy the new 1080ti or Vega in SLI/Crossfire but wanted to know if it will bottleneck in my current cpu which is the I5 6600k @4.5ghz. I'm fairly new in the PC race and wanted to know more about this. And will it solve the bottleneck if it runs at 4k resolution? Does 4k make the bottleneck manageable?

  1. Welcome to the master race lol. So I can't be sure about Vega because nothing official is out yet but SLI 1080ti will be very hard on your CPU. The maximum I'd recommend for a 6600K would be a single 1080.

Of course bottlenecking will depend on what resolution you are attempting to drive. Dual 4K vs single 1080p....
  3. Sorry how to undo the -1 accidentally pressed it. Thought it was scroll down lol sorry.
  4. I'm planning to go on 4k. Will the bottleneck be severe? Or manageable?
