PC turning on automatically once connected to power, monitors, keyboard and mouse not receiving any signal.

Hello, I apologize if this isn't the correct thread but I am encountering an issue with my PC. Four days ago I went to asleep and woke up the following morning to my PC running (was turned off). My two monitors were black, despite the PC running and my keyboard and mouse were also not registering. I attempted holding down the power button to turn off the PC but that failed so I tried switching the PSU off and then on again, however the PC started up automatically again with the same issue. I unplugged my monitor cables and reattached them and the displays were working again along with my keyboard and mouse.

Everything was fine until yesterday when I returned home from work and my PC had started up by itself again with the same problem. Whenever the PC has power from the PSU it automatically starts up without pushing the button. The previous fix did not work and my friend has taken apart my whole PC and put it back together (remounting and reattaching all connectors) and doesn't have an idea as to what is wrong. The CPU cooler fans are running, there are Mobo lights on, graphics card lights up and has spinning fans, my SSDs and HDDs all have at least 25% remaining space on them. I've dusted out my case so that shouldn't be the cause.

I recently (roughly 2-3 months ago) upgraded my Mobo/CPU to the parts listed below which my friend (who built the PC) believes to be the problem. Tested another GPU and experienced the same problem so that is ruled out. As I don't have another CPU that fits my Mobo I am unable to test whether or not it is the Mobo or CPU (my friend has a feeling it's the Mobo though). We are not able to access the Bios and there are no beeps on start up that can be heard.

This has never happened before to me or my friend and I can't find any similar reports about a PC randomly starting with the same issues I am experiencing. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

*** As I myself don't know anything about building computers and my friend is the one who does it for me leaving any suggestions you could think of would be helpful so he doesn't need to repeatedly have to come over and take my PC apart. Thanks! ***

More about turning automatically connected power monitors keyboard mouse receiving signal
  1. does it do the automatic startup when no devices are plugged in? like usb or ps/2 mice keyboards, usb sticks, network adapters, ect?
  2. We already tried removing all devices from the PC and the problem persisted.
  3. ok, disconnect the power supply and reset CMOS. if that doesn't change anything, remove all the connectors on the motherboard's JFP1 header, and see if it does it
  4. My friend already attempted both and neither of those solved the problem, the PC still automatically turns on and is non-functional.
  5. Can anyone think of what might be causing the problem or how we might go about testing whether its the CPU or Mobo when there is no integrated graphics?
